Yeehar, my Butterfly sewing pattern is ready for release to the general public!
She was the FIRST Club Member’s Pattern for the Sew Many Funky Friends Club which meant that she was EXCLUSIVELY available for the Club Members for 3 months…. AND what a long 3 months it has been not being able to let everyone else make this sweetie!!!! BUT finally she is available for everyone to sew…
Meet Belinda
BUTTERFLY!
Belinda Butterfly might just be the most beautiful Funky Friend EVER but we’re NOT going to tell her that in case she gets a bit big-headed! 🙂 She’s a fun pattern for using up scraps of fabrics from other projects and will be a hit with kids of all ages. She is a bit fiddly so I recommend her for more experienced toy makers.
I have created a step-by-step photo tutorial so you can see EXACTLY how to sew this pattern with lots of clever toy-making tips and tricks! As usual, there is a link in the See-Me-Sew section of the pattern (*Please check you type it correctly or you’ll get an error page!) to take you right to the Photo tutorial web page.
Belinda Butterfly can be made from most fabrics. (The testers found that it was hard to make her with VERY THICK fabrics because there are lots of layers to sew when you sew the wings in place.
Look how cute she looks in ALL sorts of colours and fabrics ~
The new Butterfly sewing pattern is available to download from the website NOW!
Happy sewing!
. .
Bye for now

You usually issue a special offer when you release a new pattern but I haven’t seen one for your new butterfly pattern. Is one pending? I haven’t even received an email about this release as I usually do. I only heard that you were working on a new pattern a short while ago, and I believe that was on Facebook. I received no word on the actual release and found it only by checking back here.
Maybe I’m wrong but it seems like the specials are just not happening as they did prior to the start of the online sewing club. This is disheartening for those who can’t gain access to the online sewing sessions, etc. I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining because I love your patterns and have in the neighborhood of 3 dozen of them (I actually believe maybe more)but it kind of feels like those who can not take advantage of the club are being forgotten.
Hi Deborah! You are NOT forgotten!!! 😀 I have still got the BULK OFFERS on my website which are an INCREDIBLE discount once you get to 3 or more so you can still grab those! (https://www.funkyfriendsfactory.com/bulk-discounts-e-patterns) BUT in answer to your main question… YES! From now on I will not be offering a discount on my brand new patterns. Club Members are getting a discounted rate if they sign up for the year which is fair because they have paid upfront for the patterns that they get during the year of their membership. The BULK discounts are actually a bigger discount than the Club Members get on their patterns – what the Members are actually paying for are the other intangible benefits that you cannot really put a monetary value on – like being a part of a wonderful, warm community, having a say in which design is created next, being involved in the design testing process and having access to insider information! Like I said, if people don’t want to be (or can’t be, in your case!) a part of this inner circle, I will still be around on Facebook, you can keep in touch via on my blog and when I get to send out my general newsletters! So you can still get your Funky -Fix that way!!!! 😀
Pauline…thank you so much for responding. Yes, I had already figured out some time ago that your bulk pricing is a better deal than the rate the club members get, and so, I have been getting my list together for my next big purchase (I like to get the best deal by buying 10 at a time, as I have done a couple times before). It’s just that I had noticed for quite some time you had also been offering specials with new releases so that I didn’t have to wait so long to get more of your patterns. (I get so happy when I see a new one.) Thanks for letting me know that you will no longer be doing this so I know what to expect.
I understand about the club offerings and that’s another thing that I was disheartened about because I tried and tried but just couldn’t get access to the sew-a-longs with my sad, outdated devices. Without that it didn’t seem that the club, with all it’s perks, would be worthwhile for me. But good news, we finally JUST got a brand new computer (YEA!!!) so maybe I can get in the next time you open up your offer for new members. Right now, I’m happy to sew on my own but it would be fun, I think, to be able to be on the ground floor in suggesting new patterns and being able to “test drive” them, and I’m sure that I could learn some tips on different ways to sew things that I never thought of on my own.
Again, I was not trying to be critical, and I know you can’t adjust the way you’re doing things for just one person, but I suspect there were others like me who probably couldn’t access the club for one reason or another and we don’t want to feel like we’ve been left behind. Incidentally, since I first contacted you about this I counted up my patterns and I actually have FORTY TWO of your patterns, not even counting the ones you provide to all for free (and believe me, I grabbed those up, too.) I also already have 8 more on my wish list for my next big purchase. (Dang, based on just my purchases alone I’m thinking I should buy stock in your company!)
