I love going to the Houston Quilt Market. It’s where I release the NEWEST Funky Friends toy patterns and get to meet up again with the fabric shop owners who stock Funky Friends Factory printed patterns. I ALSO get to meet some FABULOUS Fabric Designers ~ like Afonso Franco who designs the most gloriously colourful fabrics!

Afonso Franco Tecidos is based in Sacramento CA, and they manufacture and distribute digitally printed cotton fabrics which are printed in Brazil! These fun colourful fabrics are great for home decor, patchwork, quilting, sewing projects… like soft toys!

      First off, I absolutely love the fabrics. How fun are they.
      I agree the British inspired one would be so apt on the bulldogs, or one of the brighter ones on the hippo.
      So hard to pick one.

          The only thing I love more than circles is multi-coloured circles. I would love to try Afonso’s Polka Dots Prime fabric with the Coco Chameleon Pattern. That pattern would also look smashing with the other fabric in the first pic of this post (the pattern-filled stripes).

    I am so amazed by Materials. I love color and it has pulled me in so much, that i have purchased so many patterns, just so i can make beautiful creations with them. I am a new sewer. But i am so into creating beautiful things with beautiful fabric. My grandkids have put in their orders for at least 2 critters each. We had such an amazing time looking thru the different animals, and what material they want me to use. Once i got started OMG I am working on 5 this week. I need more material to put great colors into the grand’s life. Thank you for getting me into these projects. I am actually becoming a person who is sewing daily. Love the color

He’s the kind of kid who loves the bright fabrics, so something like that from Alfonso would be awesome. The polka dots prime or the chevron prints could work. I see another one with a black background in the picture of you with him that looks interesting also.

    Hi am Nita from Idaho. I have 25 patterns from Funky. I just finished a class at my local quilt shop. We did 4 patterns. I could definitely see this fabric is being used on any of the animals. We love our class because of all the fabric ideas. I hope to win something, so i can show my girls in Critter club classes. Thanks for showing us more options. We are doing the wolf in December.
