For those of you who do not live in Brisbane and may not know, Faeries in My Garden is a patchwork shop situated on the headland overlooking the ocean in Shorncliffe, an historic and peaceful suburb on the north-eastern side of Brisbane, along the east coast of Australia. The owners, Lesley and Kevin McConnell have been in business since 1996, and Faeries in My Garden has built up a reputation and dedicated following, and is now considered as one of the leading names in patchwork quilt design.
So you can imagine my excitement when they invited me to join them for their Christmas Market this year! At such short notice I had very little time to prepare my kits so I simply took my patterns and some Funky Friends Factory toys, including Reggie Reindeer.
It doesn’t really show in the photos but we were a stone’s throw from the ocean – and I just LOVED the idea of spending 2 days in the sea air, rather than in the stuffy shop where I work for my day job!
I couldn’t resist the homemade macadamia nut cookies and also treated myself to some of Lesley’s delectable fabrics so I had an absolute ball!
Thanks again to Donna, Kevin and Lesley, for such a great time!
.
Until next time,
Pauline : )
