I love surprises….. BUT sometimes
you’ve got to let the
CAT out of the Show Bag!
I love all the crafty things you find at Craft Shows but I know everyone can’t get to the shows – so I did a bit of shopping for you!
NOW you see what you can WIN!!!!
First stop was Teddy Turning Tools. This is the place to go to if you want anything to do with teddy bear making and so you can imagine, I found a lot a great things for soft toy-making too. They have all sorts of sizes of tweezers, scissors, clamps, and heaps more…
I decided on some medium-sized, straight-edged clamps/grips or as teddy bear aficionados (and nurses) would call them Hemostats! These would be great for stuffing smaller parts of soft toys like Lily Ladybug’s legs!!!! Plus they were PURPLE so I couldn’t resist!
Next was the Scissor Man. He has so many things I don’t know where to begin… well, I guess.. SCISSORS are his main thing but this is the place to get all manner of other cutting devices, cutting mats, lights and sewing gadgets!
I looked for something I hadn’t seen before… and decided on a magnetic needle case. As I am traveling, this seemed like a handy gadget for sewing on the go. Loosing a needle in the crack of the car seat would certainly
come back to bite you later – LOL!
Then I stopped… for a selfie with Mio of Studio Mio.
Here you will find all sorts of cute/kawaii things that Mio designs and finds…. LOTS of yummy Japanese fabrics, beads, toggles, buttons, charms and zipper pulls, haberdashery, hair accessories, cute kits for bags and purses.
I decided on some kawaii Japanese fabric and a bag kit for a mini purse with an Owl on it – just big enough for a coin or two, so you have one handy for the shopping trolley!
Next on the craft shopping spree was Patchwork with Gail B.
Gail and her hubby Russel have fabric in all sorts of categories from poultry to music and I think they have something for everyone! I went back soooo000 many times to grab more fabric as they restocked each day, that hubby had to remind me that we actually went to the Show to sell stuff NOT to buy stuff!!!!!! Haha!!!!!
Little does he know!!!!! 😀
I chose some cute fabric that I thought would be great for sewing some Funky Friends soft toys…
Next I popped across to see Cecile Whatman from Unique Stiching.
Cecile is an awesome textile artist and designer who works with dyes, paints fibres and fabric and makes the most amazing creative and colourful art quilts and fabric using felt, mixed media and surface design techniques, all sorts of fabric and dyes. Her stand was so colourful – I don’t think it matters that this photo was so blurry!
I chose some of Cecile’s hand-dyed felt to go in the goodie bag – I thought the pinks would be great for Elf cheeks!
Then I headed for Bebe Bold.
BeBe Bold has all sorts of wonderful Japanese textiles, embroidery threads, sashiko supplies, kogin, hand-knitting, crochet yarns, bag handles, purse frames, buttons and zippers… so much to choose from!!!!!
I chose a sweet little froggy purse kit which was too kawaii to resist!
Across the way was Thorpe and Co.
They are a Newcastle based Sewing Machine shop selling sewing machines, overlockers and embroidery machines. They are agents for Husqvarna Viking Babylock, Handi-Quilter and Horn Cabinets….. plus they have sooooooo much fabric!!!!
I chose a bunch of the new Melly & Me Sweet Home Fabric Range from Riley Blake for the Giveaway and I bought some more for me to make a Lily Lady bug when I get home. 🙂
AND then I had to rush back to MY stand…
to relieve my poor hubby!!!
Isn’t he a honey for manning the Funky Friends stand while I went craft shopping for you?
That’s $101 worth….. for the Show Bag!!!!!!! BUT what would a Funky Friends Factory Giveaway be if I didn’t add in some of
my soft toy patterns?
So…. I am throwing in 3 Funky Friends Patterns of YOUR choice…. 🙂
HOW can you win this funky Show Bag???
Leave me a comment below to let me know which 3 Funky Friends Factory stuffed toy patterns you would choose for me to add into the Show Bag – if you were to win it?

Butch and Bella, Tilley, and Heather!!
So fun! I really love your t-Rex, hippo, and shark 🙂
Looks like you had so much fun!! Love the froggy purse!! If I was lucky enough to win I would choose Ellie because I just love elephants, Punju so I could use some of my precious fabrics in her tail, and Wodger because my hubby loves wombats and he is just so darn cute!! (both Wodger and my husband LOL!). My husband doesn’t sew much, but he wanted to spend time with me one weekend and I had just bought a plattie kit from the last Melbourne craft show so we both made a Plattie and my husband was so proud of his finished toy!!
Monday, 2nd of Sept? misprint? hoping that’s 22nd or my calendar is all wrong LOL I would love Diggles, flamingo, & the bulldog patterns
What a great way to start the school holidays here in Victoria – would keep the kids happy for HOURS – and me too (way more importantly!)! Puppy Dog Pete, Reggie Reindeer, and Preston the Christmas Polar Bear Mouse the Christmas decoration (although the Slush the Snowman was a close forth with the Post it Note pattern). Way to hard to choose!
I would love to make your Kiri Kiwi for my son who has moved to New Zealand.
My brothers name is Rudolf, so I’d love to make Reggie Reindeer for him, and a Crocodile Steve OR Gertie Gecko would go well with my other Australian FFF Friends – Kiki Koala, Plattie Platypus, Wodger Wombat and Joey Junior Kangaroo.
I would love to have the Kilby Duckling, the lion and Raff Giraffe. It is hard to choose for all are soo cute.
I would choose the aardvark, the bat and the dog toys – so cute!
I would love to add Gertie Gecko, Diggles the Dragon and Lily the Ladybug to my FFF collection. It was also lovely to meet you at the show and introduce you to our Dilby and Timmy!!
I pinned Dilby of course!!! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/295830269247339072/
The dolphin, the lion and the elephant.
Hard to choose only 3 patterns but Diggles Dragon, Charlie Cockatoo and Heat Pack Lizard are the ones I would choose.
I’ve got a few of your patterns so my choices are getting smaller .. but i would definitely like lamkins and signature bear and then I need to think .. Patti, Preston, Slush, Jake Panda blanket, dog toys, cat toys, baby bunny too many choices ………….
Loved your stand at the Newcastle show!! The 2 babies, the wombat & the elephant were amongst my favourites.
Oh wow what a generous giveaway! If I won I would love Lily Ladybug, baby bunny and kitty Kate!
Peacock, Giraffe and frog
