Name needed for the Funky Friends Factory Axolotl Toy Pattern!

Jun 20, 2023 | Blog, NEW Toy Patterns

Yeehar! It’s time for a naming Competition!

BUT first, I’m going to reveal JUST ENOUGH for you to get an idea of how my Axolotl toy pattern is turning out ~>

Please don’t get too excited…

I’ve still got to write the instructions, computerise the pattern pieces AND photograph the step by step photos for the photo tutorial! You might be thinking – what’s taking so long??? To give you some idea of what I’ve been up to – here’s a photo of some of the prototypes I created…

Sub-par
salamanders!🤣

Axolotl Naming Competition Details:

I LOVE the name Aristotle BUT I think that Aristotle Axolotl is a bit of a mouthful? What do you think? Do you have any other name suggestions that are SHORTER for an Axolotl?

It can be a unisex / boy’s OR girl’s name…

BUT it must
start with the letter ‘A’

Win the Axolotl Sewing Pattern!

Please leave me a comment below with your name suggestions for the NEW axolotl toy pattern.

If YOU suggest the name that gets selected you will win the pattern!*

*WHEN it is released!!!!!!!!

I can’t wait to hear your name suggestions!

Pauline McArthur
Till next time, happy sewing,

Pauline

    I. Love. Aristotle Axolotl!!!!!!!!

If you’re not going to use that (and I hope you do!) I pick,

    Axle
    Alfie
    Arlo
    Alva
    Ari
    Abril

    And heres why…

My next first thought was Axle (of any spelling) which I do love but it’s almost too popular!

A favorite name that I want to name a pet someday is Alfie, and Alfie Axolotl sounds nice to me.

That being said, I believe the Axolotl comes from Mexico and I had a friend from Mexico whose name was Arlo, and his wife was Alva, and because they both had A names they named their son Ari and their daughter Abril. As a nod to its heritage I like,

    Arlo Axolotl
    Alva Axolotl
    Ari Axolotl
    Abril Axolotl

My friends’ name is Aschelle, which I think works well with Axolotl since the pronunciation is A-sho-lowt. Aschelle isn’t shorte, but it is faster to say than Aristotle. That’s fun, and uses many of the same letters 🙂

If Aschelle is too long, I agree with several others – Asher or just Ash (boy or girl) would be great too.
