I’m excited to release my Pineapple Cushion Sewing Pattern because it’s the first FRUIT sewing pattern I have designed! When my friend Kristie from BOO DESIGNS was showing me her soon to be released Pineapple Spandex fabric, I jokingly said, “I should design a Pineapple Pattern!” And guess what…. she said YES! And so I am proud to announce the arrival of…
the FIRST FUNKY FRUIT ~
Prickles
the
Pineapple Cushion!
I have been totally inspired by the Pimp Your Pattern section on Kristie’s blog where you can see how people take her original BOO sewing patterns and tweak, adjust, chop and change, fiddle and fluff them to create something totally BOO-tastic from her original clothing patterns!
My mind is ticking over already!
Now I want to shrink the pattern down a little and make Pineapple bookends, or make the pattern half size and make a Pineapple pin cushion, or even go larger…. enlarge the pattern and make a Pineapple doorstop!
Gosh there are so many exciting things you can do with this Pineapple Pattern…
but the big question is…
Would you PIMP my Pineapple Pattern?
. .
Till next time…
Happy Sewing,
Pauline

Bookends are a great idea for my daughter’s bookshelves…but the pineapple would also look good on my bed amongst all the Hawaiian print pillows.
i love this pineapple, it is so cute! I like the idea of using it as a pincushion. I don’t know how many times I’ve misplaced my current pincushion. If I used this pineapple, it’d be so big that I wouldn’t lose it…at least I’d hope not!
I would turn it into a fun little pineapple creature sewing a face and small body, then make him a strawberry friend to match 🙂
I have to have this!!! TotAlly awesome. I’d make it out of a stiff fabric and add stiffener to turn it into a fruity lamp, after I make a pin cushion – coolest pattern ever!!!
I think a pincushion and book ends would look fab in my craft room… If it had a door, instead of a curtain, I’d make a door stop too.
I would make one as a centerpiece for my kitchen table!
I would make a pineapple cushion that looks like Spongebob’s house. My kids would go nuts.
i would make miniature pineapples in fun colors for a baby mobile for my Hawaiian native friend who is due in April. It would be perfect to give a litte bit of aloha to the nursery.
I am going to make a pincushion for my friend. She adores anything pineapple and she sews a lot so it will be perfect. Thank you so much!
A friend of mine just made the most beautiful bowl for me that is made totally with horse shoes! I would make a couple or three of these pineapples (depending on how many fit) and have a bowl full of pineapples! If and when you do more fruit, I could have a lovely horse shoe bowl of Funky Fruits!
Super cute pineapple! I would make a smaller version for my son’s play kitchen.
So, we left Hawaii early when my husband was injured on active duty and we had made several friends over our shortened tour there. At this point most have moved on as well, but I would love to share a pineapple
I would enlarge it and also make it smaller to make some really cute pineapple plushies and I would sew some super cute faces on them! I would make pillows, pin cushions, hang them around the house. I would definitely make plush pineapples with happy faces on them and maybe make one for my dog too and put a little squeaker into it!
Do you have to pay for this pattern?
Hi, I am loving the pineapple pattern. I would introduce friends e.g. Apple, banana, grapes etc and make a fabric fruit bowl for young children to play with. Maybe even make a few with numbers on so children can count them. I am going to make pin cushions with the pattern for myself as I LOVE IT .
Keep up the fantastic work
☺️ Chana x
Hi
I would make the pineapple pin cushion as you know you can never have too many pincushions. I would also make then as gifts for friends that is if I could bear to give them away. I would also enlarge them to make as cushions to use in a conservatory I think this would be super fun.
I would make it into a fancy dress hat, with little pineapples hanging from the spikes!!
I would make pineapple bunting for our summer parties!
I love having talking point items in the house….especially after the reaction we got over Diggles!!
This is perfect. I’m making a storysack for my son for Handa’s Surprise and was thinking of making a papier mache pineapple but this is much, much better!
My sons school logo is a pineapple as we live in a pineapple growing area. I think I will make one or two to sit on the school office counter/foyer. They would also be great as a present to give to teachers leaving the school.
If you could make some changes and include a zipper, you could turn it into a sewing box. So we can store all our sewing stuff like thread bobbins, buttons, toy eyes ….
Sabrina’s idea of a rattle is cute, but my version would be whimsey for a teen. With the promise of more fruities to come, a pineapple makes a good start. Each fruit would have a different noise.
Definitely a doorstop and a pin cushion … but I’m also wondering how to Modify the pattern enough to make a wearable hat … a-la Carmen
I would turn it into a jumbo pineapple with a face :p
This would make a cute squeaky toy for any pet.
Would also be cute as a wrap around a caddy that holds dinnerware (plastic ware) for backyard bbq’s.
I would make a pin cushion version and I also like the doorstop idea.
I would sew a (non-squeaky) toy for my dog 🙂
I will make some mini Prickle, add a pair of felt eyes and a smile, and fill it with catnip for my shelter cats 🙂
WOW First thought a Pineapple Bean Bag what fun the grandchildren would have with it. Not to mention the relaxation when they went home hmmmm comfy.D4
The pincushion size with a ribbon to hang on a kitchen cabinet or door handle – for a pineapple housewarming gift!
I would make a cushion to start with then add a funny face and turn them into funky Pineapples. I would also make myself a funky pincushion to go with all my other pincushions.
i would use i for a pin cushion or make it REALLY BIG and use it for a pineapple bean bag chair <3 🙂
This would be playfood and scenery for playing Sponge Bob with stuffies.
so beautiful
I’d make a pin cushion.
