When I designed the Calico Bear pattern as a Signature Bear in 2008 I had no idea that it would become so popular as a keepsake bear pattern! Lots and lots of people sew lovely keepsakes with my bear pattern including one of my customers who we are highlighting today.

Sarah’s Signature Bears
(previously Cheeky Monkees Corner)
Sarah makes keepsake toys from special items of clothing belonging to loved ones who are no longer here, outgrown baby clothes, uniforms or other special items. One of the cutest keepsake bear she’s made is this mini keepsake bear that Sarah made by reducing the size of the Calico Bear pattern so she could make a mini keepsake bear using a small pyjama top. These are now available for order and they can be made using ONE baby outfit!
This is another gorgeous mini keepsake bear Sarah made by reducing the size of the Calico Bear pattern. It’s so easy to do this, I have a blog post about how to resize a pattern if you’d like to see how to shrink the pattern to make it into a mini keepsake bear pattern!
Sarah’s family had sad news in February this year when their Oma passed. She made these 4 very special bears from her Oma’s clothing for her Dad, Aunties and Uncle which have special hearts carrying some of her ashes, and some very special mini bears for some of the grandchildren including herself.
Besides her gorgeous keepsake bears, Sarah also sews lovely keepsakes using my animal toy patterns. This adorable unicorn keepsake version of my Horsey Horse Pattern is made from baby clothes. I love her attention to detail – can you see the placement of the rainbows on the hooves? 😀
This is her keepsake bunny version of my Easter Bunny Sewing pattern made as a memory bunny toy from baby clothes. Again you can see that Sarah has taken great care with the placement of the pieces.
This is her keepsake puppy dog version of my Dachshund Sewing pattern also sewn from baby clothes. Isn’t she adorable with that big lilac bow on it’s head!
This is her memory toy version of my Puppy Pete Sewing pattern made as a memory toy with items of clothing.
AND last but not least – this is her super cute keepsake bear version of my Melody Memory Bear Sewing pattern made as a memory toy from baby clothes. Sarah’s keepsakes are made with embroidered eyes so they are safe for babies. She can also personalise the keepsakes with embroidered words, wings and even a photo. Sarah can also sew lovely keepsakes just for you…. or you can use my Calico Bear Pattern to sew you OWN keepsakes!
Lately Sarah has added my NEW Keep Me Keepsake Bear to the range of Signature Bears she offers as custom toys for graduations and teacher’s gifts.
As you can tell – I highly recommend Sarah!!!
