I just wanted to say how wonderful it has been receiving all your emails of concern and to have such a wonderful response (from people as far away as Iowa in the US and Germany) to the newsletter email I sent out yesterday… regarding donating the proceeds of Baby-safe Bunny Patterns to the Disaster Relief Appeal for the Queensland flood victims.

When I was sending out the newsletter it had started raining but as the day went on it got progressively heavier and heavier… we had no idea just how bad it was until we turned on the TV and saw the horrifying images of houses and cars being swept away in minutes and heard the sad news that some people had lost their lives in flash flooding. I was doing a “Year of the rabbit” promotion and decided to use the Baby Bunny Patterns sales to raise some money as well. I felt it would be a way in which I could do more than just what I could give on my own.

Luckily our house is on high ground. BUT the news is just shocking, I haven’t seen anything like this before and it ‘s devastating to watch. This is our driveway last week, and yesterday it overflowed!

This is a picture of the neighbour’s cows – they must be so confused as there is now a torrent of water in this usually dry creek bed!

This is a photo taken by our friends who live a 5 minute drive away, of the park near their home. The green you see is the roof of a picnic shelter which would be at least 2m high!

Brisbane is now bracing itself for the biggest floods in living memory as all the water from the catchment pours into the Brisbane river in the coming days… and we are all praying that the predictions have over estimated the catastrophe.

It all so sad, BUT it feels good to know we are in your thoughts, thank you!
