Voodoo Rabbit used me as a guinea pig!

Jul 18, 2013 | A day in my life, Blog

It’s TRUE! I got to be a guinea pig for the Voodoo Rabbit Circle Skirt Class.

Although I design soft toy sewing patterns I have very little experience sewing my own clothes. I guess it has always just been more fun for me to sew my softies than anything PRACTICAL like clothing, but I have always said ~>

Don’t knock it  – till you’ve tried it!

So when Kylie of Voodoo Rabbit fame asked me to be her guinea pig to test out her Circle Skirt Class I was keen to give it a go.

Finished Circle Skirts

For Kylie, it was a chance to practice her teaching skills and for me it was a chance to be on the receiving end of a new sewing pattern! Oooh, I hope I can follow pattern instructions – haha!!!! : )

Poor Kylie –  she didn’t know that I was ALWAYS the naughty kid in the class
and it seems

NOTHING’s changed!!!!

I was so excited to see my circle skirt coming together so easily! WOW – sewing your own clothes is actually FUN!

Kylie was so calm and patient, guiding me every step of the way while she made her own circle skirt in this amazing SKULL fabric – Hula Skull Black by Alexander Henry

I even got to learn how to fit an invisible zipper! So cool, and very easy when someone shows you how to! I’m NOT a real girly twirly kinda girl – but HOW COOL does this skirt twirl????

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

If you would like to learn how to make a circle skirt the next Voodoo Rabbit Circle Skirt Class will be on September 22nd (2013).

Join the class you’ll have a ball and you’ll have a gorgeous skirt to show for it!

I give you a C for attention span and a B for the finished item. I would have given you an A but you got distracted and I had to hem your skirt for you 🙂
