I’m writing this blog post to tell you what you can do if you are NOT getting my emails!
If you have subscribed to my newsletter or have joined the Sew Many Funky Friends Club and you are NOT getting any emails from me… something is wrong! You may not have a SPAM FILTER but your Email Service Provider (ESP) can still block my emails from getting through to your inbox – even if you WANT to read THEM! This is a very common issue. Unfortunately, it’s just something that ESPs do because it’s an easy way for them to apply a ‘blanket fix’ to keep you safe from SPAM.
Unfortunately, it also blocks
legitimate emails
~ like mine!
Even though you can hardly consider me an internet crook!!!
How do we fix this?
To fix this – you need to do something so your ESP (Email Service Provider) will let my emails get through to you.
BUT don’t worry – it’s easy!
You need to add me to your email address book (also referred to as WHITELISTING) Because I have a business, I have many email addresses that I use for different things – for example, my email newsletters, and my website have 2 separate emails. This means you need to add each different email to your address book. This can be a PAIN so you also have an option to whitelist a domain (ALL email from one website)!
There are so many ESPs that I cannot know how each one’s process works but I did a Google search and found the information. For example, this is the result I got when I Googled “How to whitelist a domain” for a customer who uses Earthlink for their emails.
https://www.earthlink.net/webmail/help/earthlink/en_US/wam6.0/Earthlink/spamblocker/allowing_domains_-_managing_the_whitelist.htm
So to sum up:
- This is something you have to do from your side.
- I can’t force my emails through to you. 🙁
- WHITELISTING my emails or my website domain lets your ESP know that you want ALL of my emails to get through to your inbox every time even if I send you LOTS of emails, actually, especially if I send you lots of emails!!!!
AND don’t worry – when you no longer want to receive my emails – all you need to do is to click the Unsubscribe Link at the bottom of my latest email to you. (Which by the way is a legal requirement if you want to send business emails.)
Sorry, I sound like I’m a teacher giving a class a lesson in Internet protocol!!! OK, here endeth the internet lesson – hee! hee!
I’d really LOVE you to keep getting my emails ~ so give this a try! 😀
Bye for now
xxx
