I have a verrrrrrrrrrrry artistic friend<\/strong> named Mel Forrest<\/strong><\/a> who had an exhibition of her latest textile and mixed-media\u00a0 artwork<\/strong><\/a> in Southbank Brisbane<\/strong>… so I popped along to her opening party. I know it was a very auspicious occaision BUT I couldn’t help misbehaving<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

My excuse? It was the first day I’d been out of the house since getting over the flu and I don’t get out to the city at night so I had a blast!<\/p>\n

The theme of the exibition was Undercurrents<\/strong> and this is my favourite piece which is titled “Change”<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Mel<\/p>\n

I worked with Mel for many, many years<\/strong> so I have an insight into this vibrant, fiesty piece! Mel and I have been continually egging each other on in our desire for change – me with my Funky Friends Factory<\/strong> and her with her artistic journey<\/strong>, so that’s why this piece has special meaning for me!!!<\/p>\n

Mel doesn’t know that I bought a piece of her fabric that she created from one of her artistic photographs! I chose a nice green piece…<\/p>\n

\"Mel<\/p>\n

so I could make a Gertie Gecko<\/strong> for her as a gift – just to say “Thanks for being such an inspiration to me!”<\/p>\n

Do you have someone who has inspired you to reach for YOUR dreams? <\/strong><\/p>\n
