This might sound ODD – but I did NOT want to make an owl pattern<\/a><\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Well, I guess it was because I have seen a lot of people already making owls and I didn’t want people to feel I was copying theirs!!!! BUT when my friend Jodie<\/strong> from twomonkeys fabric shop<\/strong><\/a> asked me to make her an owl in her new range of owl fabrics<\/strong> … I couldn’t resist!<\/p>\n

My biggest challenge was make my owl pattern different from anything I’d seen before!\u00a0 My idea was to make a really ‘laid back’ owl<\/strong>…. sort of lolling back and RELAXING<\/strong> after a hard night doing their ‘night-time owly-stuff<\/strong>‘!<\/p>\n

I am soooooooooooooooo pleased with how he turned out – <\/strong>I took extra care with sewing on his beak and eyes as he had to look REALLY\u00a0 GOOD<\/strong> as Jodie is taking him down to the Australian Quilt Market<\/strong> at the end of November to show off her fabric!

I love how their <\/strong>claws and floppy wings can lie forwards or backwards, I guess you could even use a different fabric for UNDER their wings… this is a <\/strong>fabulous pattern for mixing and matching your fabric and felt colors<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

so go wild and have fun… I did! : )<\/p>\n
