My Baby Bunny sewing pattern<\/strong> is one of my oldest AND most popular toy sewing patterns. I think it’s because it’s a baby safe toy. I have made this photo tutorial so people who have purchased the pattern can SEE how to sew this stuffed toy Baby Bunny! (I wanted to explain this so you are not disappointed if you have found this page via a search engine and not from the link in my Baby Bunny toy sewing pattern<\/strong>!)<\/span>

Choose some fabric to sew Baby Bunny!
\n<\/em><\/h1>\n

Baby Bunny<\/span> looks great in ALL sorts of colours – even plain white!<\/p>\n

\"Baby<\/em><\/p>\n

We start sewing Bunny’s EARS:<\/strong><\/h2>\n
\n

STEP 1
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the EAR PIECES<\/strong><\/span> together in pairs (1 main and 1 contrast fabric)<\/p>\n

STEP 2a<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Turn the EAR PIECES<\/strong><\/span> right sides out. Mark the pattern markings to EAR PIECE<\/strong><\/span> you cut from the contrast fabric.<\/p>\n

STEP 2b<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Fold the inside edge of each ear (the edge with the dot pattern marking) to the center of the ear and use pins or a tacking stitch to hold them in position.<\/p>\n

ARMS:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

STEP 3a
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the ARM PIECES<\/strong><\/span> together.<\/p>\n

\"Pin<\/p>\n

STEP 3b
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Turn them right sides out.<\/p>\n

STEP 3c
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Stuff them quite firmly with toy stuffing BUT do not stuff the top 1cm\/ \u00bd inch. This is so that you can pin the ARM PIECES<\/strong><\/span> closed at the top.<\/p>\n

LEGS:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

STEP 4a
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the LEG PIECES<\/strong><\/span> together and turn right sides out. Stuff them quite firmly with toy stuffing.<\/p>\n

STEP 4b
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Again, do not stuff the top 2cm\/ 1 inch.<\/p>\n

STOP!!!!!<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

*** The legs are pinned a little bit differently<\/strong><\/span> to the arms ~><\/p>\n

Fold the top of the legs so that the seams lie in the centre of each leg when you pin the top of the legs closed.<\/p>\n

BODY:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

STEP 5
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the FRONT BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span> together from A \u2013 B.<\/p>\n

\"Front<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\n

STEP 6
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the BACK BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span> together from C \u2013 D.<\/p>\n

\"Back<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

LEGS:<\/strong><\/h2>\n
\n

STEP 7
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Pin the LEGS<\/strong><\/span> to the FRONT BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span>. Position the top of the legs between the pattern markings on the FRONT BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span>. (To make sure the bunny\u2019s legs will face the front, you must pin the legs with the \u201cfeet\u201d touching. the FRONT BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span>).<\/p>\n

STEP 8
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the legs to the FRONT BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span> then let them hang down so that they are \u2018outside the body\u2019.<\/p>\n

EARS:<\/strong><\/h2>\n
\n

STEP 9
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Pin the EARS<\/strong><\/span> to the FRONT BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span>, between the pattern markings. (To make sure the ears will face forwards, place the ears so that the fold of the ears touch the right sides of the FRONT BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span>.)<\/p>\n

STEP 10
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Pin the ARMS<\/strong><\/span> in position between the pattern markings on the FRONT BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span>. (The arms are placed facing into the body and pointing downwards).<\/p>\n

STEP 11
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the BACK BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span> to the FRONT BODY PIECES<\/strong><\/span> – REMEMBER to leave the gap across the tops of the legs open for you to turn and stuff your bunny.<\/p>\n

* I’ve added the purple arrow in the photo below
\nto show you where the gap should be.<\/p>\n

STEP 12
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Turn your bunny right side out through the gap at the top of the LEGS<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

STEP 13
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Stuff the head and body quite firmly with toy stuffing. Make the nose area fairly firm \u2013 this makes it easier when sewing on the eyes and mouth.<\/p>\n

STEP 14
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Sew the face before you sew the body closed! Follow the steps by step instructions in the pattern.<\/p>\n

TIP:<\/strong> If the toy is NOT<\/span><\/strong> for a baby, you can use a bead or safety eye instead of a French knot. It is NOT<\/strong><\/span> safe to use small parts for eyes when you are making a toy for a baby or a child under 3 years old. Use embroidery thread to sew a French knot for each eye instead. TAIL:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

STEP 15
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Use a strong thread and a running stitch to gather the TAIL PIECE<\/strong><\/span> to form a cup shape. Fill this with toy stuffing and pull tightly to gather the TAIL PIECE<\/strong><\/span> to form a ball. Sew the TAIL<\/strong><\/span> closed and finish off securely. Sew the tail in this position using ladder stitching.<\/p>\n

STEP 16

Sew the gap at the top of the legs closed with a ladder stitch.<\/p>\n
