Can you guess what toy pattern I’m designing?

Jun 12, 2023 | A day in my life, Blog, NEW Toy Patterns

Wanna know what’s coming soon?

I have finally got around to working on a pattern that sooooooooo many people have been asking me for. I’m loving how it’s turning out ALREADY and just couldn’t wait to finish so I thought I’d let you have a teeny sneak peek for a bit of fun – we can see if you can guess what I’m designing for you!!

Here are some clues for you…

1. It’s got GILLS.

2. MOST people will sew it in PINK!

3. It rhymes with Aristotle!

4. It has a SMILE!

Oooooh, before I forget ~>

Here is the sneak peek…

Can you guess?

Right! I’d better get back to it…

Bye for now,
Pauline

I just did a google search for “pink amphibian” (after someone said it looks like a newt). Yup, this was one of the selections previously that we had voted on. At that time I had never heard of an axolotl, so did some research then. Images on the Internet are so cute. Yes, definitely pink. Can’t wait to see the pattern so we can make our very own!

Just checking to see if this is an Axelot?

I’ve been trying to find a pattern to make them in different colors. Is this what it is? If not, that’s my suggestion. Love your patterns – met you at a trade show years ago. Your ideas are so creative!

    Salamanders + Axolotl
    See the connection
Is an axolotl the same thing as a salamander?
Axolotl is a species of salamander with a very unique genetic makeup. Due to a rare condition called ‘neoteny’, they retain most of their larval features into adulthood, so they have all the features of a tadpole – from feathery gills to a long, quill-like dorsal fin – even when they’re fully mature.

Cool. Looking forward to it. Axilotls are extremely popular at craft fairs and markets. I have been crocheting mine and am excited to see your version. Currently working on your moose for our moose lodge fraternity, and just purchased the eagle. He will also be popular with our fraternity members.
