Meet the Party Animal Pattern!πŸ₯³

Jan 24, 2024 | Blog, NEW Toy Patterns

Party Animal makes a brilliant gift for party lovers of all ages … especially those “hard to buy for” teenagers!

He will ALSO be a cute and cuddly buddy for anyone (even if you’re staying in for the night)…Β Paula Blevins snapped this fun pic of her Party AnimalΒ sharing his popcorn with his bestie Panda Ning!

What SIZE is the finished Party Animal toy?

Party Animal is 42cm (17 inch) long.Β To give you an idea of Party Animal’s size – here he is with Laura Peters Cartoscelli’sΒ  son… πŸ’œ

AND some soda bottles!πŸ˜†

AND here is with Akrivi Fassa’sΒ  son… with his Happy Birthday buddy!πŸ’›πŸ’—

Is there a Photo tutorial?

YES! I have created a step-by-step photo tutorial so you can see EXACTLY how to sew this cute Party Animal – with lots of clever keepsake making tips and tricks! As usual, you can access the tutorial using the link in the See-Me-Sew section of the pattern.

(*Please check you typed this link in correctly,

What fabric should I use for Party Animal?

You will need a scrap of long-pile Faux (Fake) Fur for Party Animal’s fuzzy hair but the rest of Party Animal can be sewn with most fabrics. I find him easiest to sew in fleece but I have also used quilting cottons and repurposed clothing for a memory toy too. You can use ANY COLOUR for sewing the Party Animal PatternΒ – as you will see from the feedback photos below…

Party Animal looks great in any colour!

I’m a real “pink & purple” fanatic so no guesses why I LOVE this Party Animal sewn by Laura Laura Peters Cartoscelli. She embroidered “Cute but a little WEIRD!” on the EXTRA LARGE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECE.πŸ’œπŸ’—

Teri Wolff sewed this bright, cheery Party Animal and gave him an extra large big SMILE!!!! He looks so happy! 🌞

This rainbow Party Animal was sewn by Janet Huxtable. She’s carried the multicoloured theme through to the arms and legs too!

This fabulously fun fellow was sewn by Judie Flower. I love the way she has picked out the colours in the fabrics and highlighted them with the pom-poms on Party Animals’ party hat (which is included in the pattern).

If you’re more of a sedate ‘cheese & wine party’ type, make your Party Animal in some more neutral colours. He’ll be just as cute as his neon friends, as you can see by this jolly fellow sewn by Arja H.

Is he EASY to sew?

I would say that Party Animal is suitable for an adventurous beginner only because of the fur hair. Don’t worry if you’re NEW to sewing with fake fur – we have a Beginner’s Guide to finding fur, all the different types PLUS a video on the basics of how to use it! Click HERE for the Beginner’s Guide to sewing fake fur Toys!

Here’s what the Testers said about sewing Party Animal:

Barbara CromΒ – Fun to sew. I wouldn’t have tried fur if I hadn’t needed hair! Now that I have, I am thinking of many reasons to make more!

Laura Keeney – a nice entry to working with fur.

Kim’s Illiaretti –Β I love how you can really mix fabrics, textures and colours with this pattern because he is a fun and silly creature.

Let’s checkout some more FUN feedback photos!

Party Animal makes a great sewing buddy!πŸ§΅βœ‚οΈ

It looks like Maria Barnes has sewn Party Animal as a sewing buddy – either that or he’s just hanging out on her sewing machine – planning his next party!

It looks like this Party Animal has fallen asleep on Karen Reiney‘s sewing machine! LOL 🀣

AND this Party Animal sewn by Melissa Eggleton is almost blending in with the colours of her cutting mat! She also embroidered “Party Animal” on the EXTRA WIDE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECE.

Look at all this embroidery space!

Party Animal has MORE large flat spaces for adding embroidery or special wording than any other Funky Friend!🀩

Mary-anne Potgieter sewed this fabulous Party Animal as baby keepsake! She’s added LOTS cute embroidery! She embroidered “It’s a Boy” on the EXTRA WIDE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECE.

AND here you can see the TUMMY PIECE, where she added the birth stats. This LARGE SQUARE [5inch (12.7cm) square] embroidery space on the TUMMY PIECEΒ is also a fabulous spot to use a t-shirt logo or a photo transferred onto fabric.

AND here you can see one of the BODY PIECES, where she added a poem. The BODY PIECES both have the same size space to add text as the tummy…a generousΒ [5inch (12.7cm) square] embroidery space. Use the sides of the toy to add names, monograms, dates, keepsake clothing fabric, or special event details.Β

Want to add EMBROIDERY?

Want to personalize with TEXT?

Want to use keepsake CLOTHES?

Look for the grey embroidery grids / grey blocks BEFORE you trace your pieces (like this one in the photo below). These blocks show you the size of the embroidery spaces, so you can plan where you want to use text (or clothing logos from t-shirts, designs from baby clothes, etc).Β

MORE fun embroidered Party Animals…

Check out the fantastic eyelashes Karla Strauss added to her Party Animal. She embroidered “Party Animal” on the EXTRA WIDE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECE.πŸ’œ

Sandy Thurlow embroider “HIC!” on the EXTRA WIDE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECE – which is rather appropriate for her Party Animal who looks like he’s come home a bit sozzled from a big party! πŸ˜‚

Laura Keeney sewed Party Animal for her son. She embroidered “Party On!” on the EXTRA WIDE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECEΒ andΒ  “Today is Your Day” on the LARGE SQUARE [5inch (12.7cm) square] embroidery space on the TUMMY PIECE.

Kim Illarietti has embroidered party-themed words and images (balloons and fireworks) on her Party Animal(s?) EXTRA WIDE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECE and LARGE SQUARE [5inch (12.7cm) square] embroidery space on the TUMMY PIECE.

Here is Party Animal, having his own PARTY!

Sherry Bristol posed her fun Party Animal on a super starry quilt and made my free cupcake pattern for his birthday celebration! πŸŽ‚

πŸŽ‚Β A Sweet Treat for YOU! πŸŽ‚

This felt food cup cake FREE pattern was for my birthday! It looks good enough to eat BUT it’s not as fattening – YAY!!! You can also use the cup cake as a pin cushion, or add a rattle for a cute baby toy for a baby’s first birthday present!

AND dancing like no one is watching!πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Akrivi Fassa Β embroidered “Happy Birthday” on the EXTRA WIDE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECE. She had fun posing Party Animal too ~> It looks like he’s dancing to Cameo’s “Wave your hands in the air – like you just don’t care!” LOL πŸ˜‚

AND there’s always someone who goes a bit far!

Shirls Smith had fun posing her Party Animal having a wild boozy party…

He really shouldn’t have had so
🍹🍸 many cocktails!!!!!! 🍸🍹

Party Animal can be for any occasion – not just parties!

Here Stacie Elkins made a “love” Party Animal! 😍 I bet you know someone who would LOVE to receive a Party Animal like this on Valentine’s Day! πŸ’˜

AND here is looking out the window…

waiting for his date!Β

Kathy Cuthbertson said she had a LOT of fun creating a little party leprechaun. She embroidered some green clover leaves on the EXTRA WIDE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECE. I’m sure Party Animal will be attending a few St Patrick’s Day shindigs!!! πŸ€

☘️ A St Patrick’s Day treat for you! ☘️

Looking for a free Shamrock pattern for St Patrick’s Day toys?Β  Now you can make ANY Funky Friends Factory toy their own lucky 4 leaf clover or shamrock from felt. I have made a selection of sizes so you can choose a shamrock size,Β  according to the size of the Funky Friend you’re sewing.

Party Animal is popular with pets!

Here is Party Animal hanging out with Paula Blevin’s corgi pup! She has embroidered a big read heart on the EXTRA WIDE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECE… to tie in with his red party hat! ❀️

Paddi Sprecher used a kid’s birthday hat left over from her dog’s birthday party for making Party Animal‘s hat.

Paddi took Party Animal along with her when she was house-sitting… and it looks like he had a WILD time!

Here he is sliding down

the banister & swinging from the chandelier!πŸ˜„

Here we can see Maria A.‘s doggy with their new Party Animal pal!

I’m not so sure MY cat would love Party Animal, but it seems that Debbie Ella‘s cat is tolerating the new arrival! 😸

Party Animal for President / Prime Minister?

Carol Bell said she took Party Animal to work with her as she is a teacher. The kids loved him and someone said he looked like Boris Johnson!!!

Talking of wild hair…

Matt Jone‘s Party Animal looks like he’s behaving himself…. but as you can see from the “Lets Party” embroidered on the EXTRA WIDE [6inch (15cm) wide] embroidery space on the CHEST PIECE, he is not a quiet, retiring type!

His party got TOTALLY outa control and Party Animal and his friend Harper Hobby Horse had a wild time horsing around in the sewing room!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ₯³

People LOVE to pose with Party Animal! Here we haveΒ Jonell Hart doing just that! πŸ˜‚

We look forward to seeing how Party Animal celebrates at your place, so post your photos online to share the fun!
