We’ve drawn a winner in our Easter Contest!π₯³
Our Annual Easter & Spring Theme Funky Friends Factory competition just wrapped. It’s our most popular contest of the year, so it was difficult to pick just a few entries to showcase this week.Β
Let’s take a peek
at some of the entries…
Christine Storrs decided to sew 3 of the Funky Friends Factory Easter toy patterns for her entry – Dilby Duck, Easter Bunny Buddy and Lamkins Lamb. I love the fluffy fabrics Christine used and the Co trast with the pink velvet on the bunny.

We had LOTS of Easter Bunny Buddy entries!π°π°π°
TheΒ Easter Bunny Buddies Pattern is always a popular entry choice for the contest.
The cute face, floppy limbs, and plentiful options for personalization make this bunny a sweet treat all year long. Sweet bunny fabric and an adorable bow make Ann Donohoe’s version of theΒ Easter Bunny Buddy pattern a stand-out. Notice how Ann perfectly placed bunny images on the forehead and arms. The polka dots make for a fun contrast fabric, too.

Joy Snouffer sewed 2 cute Easter Bunny Buddies for her granddaughters.. I can’t pick a favourite!

Nancy Redding sewed this fabulous FLUFFY Easter Bunny Buddy from various pile length minky and faux fur. What a cool combo of textures and colours!

This Easter Bunny BuddyΒ was sewn by Lisa Mahoney. Plaid looks great on any Funky Friend, and I especially like the pastel pattern on this bunny. Looks like this little rabbit found some dandelions to share with his friends.

Donna Creech Dobbs whipped up a pretty pair of Easter Bunny Buddies for Easter gifts in cute Easter fabric. The no-seam tummy piece on this pattern allows you to use fabric designs that need to be seen in full.

WOW! Lindsey Mortimer has been very busy! She sewed 13 Easter Bunny BuddiesΒ this Easter – some with the grandkids name embroidered on the feet! This pattern makes a great option for clothing keepsakes, whether you use baby clothes or men’s shirts as in the photo below.

Baby Bunny Pattern
Even though the baby bunny was designed as a baby toy (because it’s 100% baby safe if you sew on the face details), it has always been a popular toy sewn for Easter.
Jenny Templeton went ‘all out’ this year and sewed ELEVEN Baby Bunnies. I wonder if a bunny bunting trend could be a thing?π (If you want to know how to shrink (reduce) the size of a pattern to make the toy at a smaller size – check out the TIP below the next photo.)

This perky Β Baby Bunny was sewn by Kellie Stanley-Cotton. She added a heart shaped applique nose instead of the usual nose option. This toy can be made totally baby-safe if you use embroidery for the face. I love the big neck bow that ties in with the ears!

Carla Wilson sewed this adorable fleece Baby Bunny. What a sweet treat for a baby’s first Easter! Carla did an excellent job matching up the stripes on this bunny, Did you know that his was the very first Funky Friends Factory pattern?

Keeping with the purple theme….. Susan McCure sewed this fabulous flannelette Baby Bunny. Here she is posing in an Easter basket (the bunny, NOT Susan!π)Β

Egghead the Easter Chick Pattern
If you’re looking for a huggable Easter friend, the rolly-polly Egghead Easter Chick is a great option. Nancy Redding sewed this Egghead the Easter Chick and used a long flowing bow rather than the regular bow tie option. He looks quite fancy!Β

Ann Balthaser sewed 2 Egghead the Easter Chicks – one at normal size and the other at a reduced size. They both look ready to flap their wings and try flying.

Ann had so much fun sewing her Egghead the Easter Chicks! ~>
she sewed some more!

Lamkins Lamb Pattern
Here’s a Lamkins Lamb sewn by Teri Wolff. This type of fluffy fabric can leave a fuzzy mess in your sewing room, but it sure makes a cute Lamkins!

Nancy Redding used short-pile fake fur for this sweet fluffy Lamkins Lamb. Here’s a tip for using fuzzy fabric: cut it outdoors to minimize mess!

I’m loving this little Lamkins Lamb sewn by Joanne Williams. She sewed this sweet baby keepsake toy out of baby clothes! She incorporated buttons, ribbons, and other aspects of the clothing into the toy.

Dilby Duck patternΒ
These 3 adorable Dilby Ducks were sewn by Erica Woolmington. Β Looks like they’ve been busy laying chocolate eggs for Easter baskets!

Linda Telford Trettin sewed a bunch of Dilby Ducks too! These fabric choices are all so cute that I can’t pick a favorite.

Heather Goldsmith sewed this cute colourful pair of Dilby Ducks. It looks like THEY got more Easter Eggs than me! π₯π

Susan Lipke sewed this sweet pair of matching Easter toys –Β Easter Bunny Buddy and Dilby Duck. They look pretty inseparable to me so I wonder if they “go as a pair”?Β

Emma Boulton of Emma’s Patchwork Memories sewed a keepsake Dilby Duck using baby clothes made from Petter Rabbit fabric! Look how she cleverly fussy cut the fabric so the bunnies are perfectly positioned on the wings and tummy.π€©

Spring-themed & non-traditional Easter entries.π·
(You could enter our Easter Contest with ANY Funky Friends Factory pattern – as long as it was clearly made in an Easter or Spring theme.π·)Β
Tonya Schuettner sewed this cute Belinda Butterfly in Easter themed flannelette fabric. I love how she added flowers as the blush on Belinda’s cheeks.

Teri Wolff used a fun floral fabric for Puppy Dog Pete. With this orange and yellow fabric, they remind me of sunshine on a spring day…complete with flowers.
